Inside the Sonoran Desert Conservatory at the Botanic Garden.  The Sonoran Desert, a low desert, covers most of Arizona and northern Mexico.  Albuquerque is at the far northern end of the Chihuahua Desert, which is a high desert and not quite as lush.

On August 22, 2013, former PSHS classmate Steve Poltz came to Albuquerque as part of a multi-city tour.  Poltz is a singer and songwriter; he co-wrote "You Were Meant for Me" with Jewel and appears in the video.  This photo was taken at the Shark Reef Café at the Albuquerque Aquarium (that's the shark tank in the background).  Poltz performed at the Botanic Garden, which shares the same grounds as the aquarium.

It's a good thing I took a picture of the ticket, because the ushers took it at the gate!  Poltz was one of the acts for the Botanic Garden's Summer Nights Concert Series--held on Thursday evenings each Summer.  The Rio Grande Zoo also has a concert series, held on Friday evenings.

Poltz is escorted by a Bio Park official to the Botanic Garden stage.

Poltz was in the Class of '78--I was in the Class of '77.  We got to talk for about 15 minutes prior to his show--we discussed teachers, and going to both Nellie N. Coffman Jr. High and Palm Springs High School.

Poltz performed in front of a large crowd at the Botanic Garden.  The next night (Aug. 23), he had an engagement at the Cooperage, a restaurant here in Albuquerque, and the following night, he played at a house party in Tucson, AZ..
