Andreas Canyon

(Palm Springs)

Not far from Palm Canyon is Andreas Canyon.  One can see the oasis about a half-mile away up against the foot of the mountains.____________________

The sign at the fork in the road pointing directions and distances.

Some pretty cool rock formations near the parking area.

Signage pointing the directions and distance.  Again, due to time limitations, we couldn't hike in too far on this trip--but I'll be back!  Reading Maynard Mine brought back some memories--I had heard that name during natural history of the Coachella Valley classes I took in high school.

The creek coming out of Andreas Canyon.
Another oasis scene at Andrea Canyon.

A little dam to help stop erosion and flooding during storms.

The creek trickling by among the foliage.

The signage for the Andreas Canyon loop trail--only one mile in length.
