Vernon is my oldest;    In this photo, Vernon is enjoying a drink at Fitzgeralds Casino (now called "the D") in Las Vegas.

What can you say when your own "babies" start having babies?   Krystal is my next oldest--I remember how much my mom loved having her sit with her in the rocking chair when Krystal was only two years old.  And now, Krystal has made me a grandpa with precious little Lauren (and now, Emily!); my heart swells whenever I see them.  Krystal was born in San Diego in 1986.

These are my granddaughters Lauren and Emily ... Lauren was born September 15, 2008 and Emily just missed being born on her great-grandpa's birthday by an hour--October 20, 2011.  Lauren is a crack-up and Emily is so adorable in this photo as a little piggy--trying out her Halloween costume.

Renn is Krystal's husband; he's a great guy and I like him.  Renn works for the Federal Government--but I can't say for whom, because it's classified and then I would have to kill you.  This is Renn and Krystal on their wedding day.

Robyn had an auspicious entrance into the world--she was born the same day my mom died.   Robyn is going to UNM and studying for a dual major: Criminology and Screen Writing.with a minor in Psychology.   Robyn was born in San Diego in 1989; in this picture, Robyn is legally gambling for the first time at Harrah's Casino in New Orleans.

Chauntel is growing up whether the world is ready or not; at 17, she already had her own apartment; she's now married to Jules in Maryland and is expecting her first chilid--Hannah Belle. Chauntel was born in 1992 in Mesa, AZ.

Hannah, born to Chauntel and Jules on November 19, 2013.

Jules is Chauntel's husband.--he's a photographer with the US Navy.  I haven't had the opportunity to get to know Jules very much in person, but we are friends on facebook--I guess that will have to do, for now.

Ian lives with his mother, Suzy, in Mesa, AZ.--he is very smart (on the genius level)--he loves science, and knows about things that I have no clue about.  In this photo, Ian is riding on the light-rail train in Phoenix in July, 2009.

My cousin Bobby in his workshop at Post Falls, ID.  We had a brief family reunion on Sept. 9, 2015 after having not seen each other for at least 44 years!

Bobby and his wonderful wife, Pura in Sept. 2015.

My cousin Danny (next to me on the right) and his wife, Sharon, and their friend, John.   I hadn't seen Danny and Sharon for at least 44 years as well!  Both my cousins Bobby and Danny live in Post Falls, ID. (Photo taken Sept. 9, 2015 by Charlene).

Note:  I'm not sure what it means ... nor whether it is meant to have any "meaning"--it's probably just a strange coincidence .... but all my children were born on either the 17th or the 24th of the month (and, were born on either a Wednesday or a Friday)!   I'm not into Numerology--and when it comes to interpreting symbols, I've been out of practice for many years.  But, this arcane fact is something that I did take notice of ... and, it does give me the chills sometimes (or, to put it another way ... it's spooky!).

Reece (a Chi-Weenie)--part Chihuahua and part Dachshund-- is the new member of our family; he was adopted from the animal shelter a couple of months after our other dogs died.   Reece was 7 months old when he came to live with us; he's very active and playful--loves to bring a ball to you in order to play fetch.   Reece has already assumed Toby's former position as the "Watch Dog."   In this photo, Reece is on the Crest Trail on Sandia Peak as we hiked to the tram station on August 23, 2015.

Lacey is my  Basset Hound--she is my most favorite dog EVER!  Lacey always does her "happy dance" when I come home from work.  Lacey likes to eat and sleep ... and when she's not doing that, she's eating and sleeping.   Lacey died on May 28, 2015.

Toby is the "Watch Dog"--I like to call her a "chupacabra" because she can be quite aggressive.  Toby is three-times smaller than Lacey but has taken the role of "Alpha" dog.  Toby is a Rat Terruer-mix--with some Chihuahua--the Terrier-half is most dominant.  Toby died on May 21, 2015.
